The store was opened because the founder saw a growing need for computer components. Prebuilt computers generally carry a large markup and it can be cheaper to build or upgrade your own computer by buying your own components. Buying your own computer components can also enable you to spec your computer for your needs. Gone are the days of overpaying for a computer with bad components. About the Founder
The founder of Computer Components Direct is Kevin Johnson. Kevin is from Springboro, Ohio and is currently a sophomore at Miami University. He was inspired to start Computer Components Direct when his CIT 273 course tasked him with creating a website for a business. Kevin thought that the assignment was a great idea so he created a website for a computer components business. Kevin grew up working on and building computers so he has a passion for computers and computer components. Building a business around a passion has been a dream come true.
