A planetary system is a group of planets, comets, satellites, and other celestial objects bound together by the gravicational pull of a star!
What is our planetary System?
The planetary system we live in is known as the "Solar System". All of the objects in our system are held together by our star which is named Sol or commonly called the Sun!.
What is contained in our system?
Many different things are housed in our Solar System like natural satilities, moons, and planets!
We have 8 planets in our solar system their names are: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune! All of the planets orbit our Sun!
They orbit the sun in this order starting from closest to the sun:
- Mercury
- Venus
- Earth
- Mars
- Jupiter
- Saturn
- Uranus
- Neptune
The easiest way to remember the order is to remember "My Very Excited Mother Just Served Us Nachos". Each letter reminds you of the first letter of the planet!
