This page houses the link to the NBA model for the 2023-2024 season. Linked below is where the model will be.
In the model linked above, the user clicks the link to take them to the model on OneDrive. Upon opening the spreadsheet, go to the results tab to pick desired teams for simulation. Use drop down box to select team of choice. Once teams have been selected, go to the "Simulated Scores" tab to see predicted outcome and score of the game. Games are simulated 250 times and then averaged to determine the final score, win percentage for each team, and chance of overtime.
In this model linked above, the user clicks the link to take them to the model on OneDrive. Upon opening the spreadsheet, you are met with today's matchups. As you can see, there are multiple sheets that contain team statistics for every team. Inside the "Math For Picks" tab, you can see the statistics that are used for calculations. This model uses the 4 factors, which are EFG, ORB, TO, and FT/FGA. These categories are weighted appropriately and then used to predict the spread. Then metrics like pace and average efficiency are used to predict the score and total points. On the matchups sheet, on the right, you can see the betting lines for that matchup, and how the model thinks the game will go. The model also informs you how to read the projected outcome section.
